What is the difference between CNC and VMC?

There is no difference between the CNC and VMC. CNC  stands for “Computer Numerical Control” While  VMC  Stands for “Vertical Machining Center” Difference is in between  VMC  and  HMC . A  VMC  and  HMC  is a machine with a CNC controller. CNC is  Computer Numerical Control  which controls the machine operations. i.e. Turning Centre(Lathe), Milling, EDM, WEDM, Laser Cutting, CMM. VMC  stands for  Vertical Machining Center . HMC  stands for Horizontal Machining Center. In  VMC , The work piece is hold on the table base and the spindle which contains the cutting tool is fixed on  vertical spindle Z axis . The table moves in X and Y axis and spindle with cutting tool moves in Z axis. In  HMC , spindle rotates in a horizontal orientation in which cylindrical work piece is rotated around its axis and tool is stationary and all controls are controlled by the CNC controller. i.e. Turning Center is HMC. By means of  Computer Numerical Codes  the work piece is cut in
